The Curriculum

PEipadAll students within the Federation will receive core PE lessons.

• All students will have the opportunity to complete a Federation Sports Leadership Award in year 10. This award is an excellent opportunity to develop skills such as communication, organisation and team work in a sports setting.

• Some students will have the opportunity to achieve a Federation Dance Leaders Award in year 10. This allows students to explore leadership in a dance setting focussing on choreography, organisation, communication and teamwork.

Physical Education is a core subject and compulsory until you leave school.

Why do PE?
Exercise is part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It helps you to develop good habits for the future and personal skills; as well as keeping your body fit and active through your time at school and beyond.

What will you do in PE?
PE in Key stage 4 is an extension of what you have already done. You have to be taught a minimum of 2 areas of the National Curriculum. Sports covered will include some of the following; football, tennis, basketball, badminton, softball, cricket, fitness, athletics, volleyball and dance.

If sufficient students show interest and commitment, a twilight GCSE PE course may be introduced using Core PE time for students to complete practical work and one session after school per week will run at both Alderman White and The Bramcote School, covering the theory elements of the course.
